History
Scouting’s flagship event is one-of-a-kind. It’s a gathering of approximately 40,000 Scouts, leaders, and staff that showcases everything that is great about the BSA and its members. Held every four years, the Jamboree is an amazing opportunity for participants, volunteers, and visitors to experience the best of Scouting, all in one place. Features include; one of the longest zip line courses in North America, a world-class skate park, ATV offerings, tree-top canopy tours, rock climbing, patch trading, stadium shows, and much more!

TRAVEL PLANS
The Green Mountain Council Contingent will leave Vermont on Monday, July 17 and travel to Pennsylvania.  Our tentative plan is to stay at a BSA Cabin, tour the Gettysburg museum and cyclorama, plus hike the battlefield. Then onto the Jamboree on Wednesday, July 19 and camp there until the morning of July 28, returning home that evening.
ORGANIZATION
The Jamboree is open to all who are qualified on a first come basis.  After our Units have been filled, a standby list of alternates will be established.  Scouts will be assigned to a Jamboree Unit consisting of 36 Scouts and four adult leaders.  The council contingent will  consist of up to 1 1/2 units. Our Council Units will be in one of four camps, mixed in with Units from all over the country, and the world.
Jamboree camping and facilities are located in a fairly compact area, but there are many remote and off site activities, including whitewater, other aquatics, rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking that are part of the daily schedule.

TOTAL COST
$2,200 for Scouts/Venturers; $1500  for adult leaders in the Contingent.

CAMPERSHIP FORM
FUND ASSISTANCE
Thanks to the generosity of donors, we have a designated financial assistance fund for youth in need. Throughout the year grants are made from this fund to ensure all youth have the opportunity to experience the excitement of our camps and national events.

ELIGIBILITY FOR A CAMPERSHIP?
Only youth who are registered members of the Green Mountain Council, BSA. Adults are encouraged to talk with their Pack, Troop or Crew leadership if they believe they require financial assistance to attend any of our council run camp programs and/or national run events.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A CAMPERSHIP?
Follow the instructions to fill out and return the Campership Application Form linked below. Applications should be submitted before January 15, 2023.

HOW ARE SELECTIONS MADE?
The following are considerations:
Description of financial need
Description of youth efforts to do fund raising
Endorsement of application by leader of Pack, Troop or Crew
To Fill out Campership form, please go here: 2023 GMC National Jamboree Contingent Campership Form

FEE INCLUDES
The Jamboree fee covers all transportation, tours, admission fees, meals, lodging, patrol and Unit equipment, as well as insurance.  Fee also covers the training camps before the Jamboree, and items such as a  shirt, patches, hat, rain jacket, and Jambo duffle bag to each Contingent member.  Additional expense will be any personal equipment, uniforms, spending money and whitewater rafting (optional).  This fee is based upon estimated transportation and hotel costs.  If those costs increase, we may have to increase the Jamboree fee accordingly.  We will  be engaging in fundraising activities to keep costs down.  Some scholarship funds will be available.  Early Jamboree registration, and request for scholarship assistance in writing are strongly encouraged, since these funds will be limited.
REFUND POLICY
If you sign up for the Jamboree and then find that you cannot attend, you will receive a full refund from the Green Mountain Council only if there is an alternate to take your place.  In the event that there is not an alternate, a partial refund will be made.  This includes the fees that you have paid to date, less any expenses related to contractual agreements on your behalf.
SETS ARE NOW IN AND FOR SALE.

Our wildlife inspired patch set was designed by one of our own volunteers and was made specifically for the National Jamboree. The silhouettes of the mountains on each patch represents the five mountains over 4000 feet in the State of Vermont. This is a Collector's Set.

Please visit our online store here. They can also be purchased through the Council trading post.
