What are Camperships?

PLEASE NOTE: THE DUE DATE FOR SUBMITTING ALL CAMPERSHIP FORMS IS 4/01/2023!

FUND ASSISTANCE
Thanks to the generosity of donors, we have a designated financial assistance fund for youth in need. Throughout the year grants are made from this fund to ensure all youth have the opportunity to experience the excitement of our camps.

ELIGIBILITY FOR A CAMPERSHIP?
Only youth who are registered members of the Green Mountain Council, BSA. Adults are encouraged to talk with their Pack, Troop or Crew leadership if they believe they require financial assistance to attend any of our council run camp programs.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A CAMPERSHIP?
Follow the instructions to fill out and return the Campership Application Form linked below. Applications should be submitted before April 1,2023.

HOW ARE SELECTIONS MADE?
The following are considerations:
Description of financial need
Description of youth efforts to do fund raising

CAMPERSHIP DEADLINE
The campership deadline for all camps is April 1, 2023. Our application can be found at https://www.scoutingvermont.org/camperships.html and award decisions will be made and reported to families no later than May 15, 2023.

NOTIFICATION AND TIMELINE
Camperships will be reviewed, verified, and funds approved (if all information is accurate and verified) by May 15,2023. When approved, the campership will be directly applied to your existing registration; notification is sent to the parent and committee chair of your Pack/Troop/Crew.

HOW CAN I DONATE TO THE CAMPERSHIP FUND?
To donate to the Campership fund all you need to do is make a notation in the memo line of your check or a letter attached to your donation or if paying on-line, note that this is for the Campership Fund.
WHAT FEE DOES THE CAMPERSHIP GET APPLIED TO?
Green Mountain Council strives to provide need and merit-based aid at a level that is greater than any promotional discount. Campers receiving financial aid will see that discount applied to the Full Price fee regardless of any other discounts or promotions. It is not possible to combine financial aid with other discounts. Ex: John Doe applies for financial aid and is awarded a $100 Campership. Doe’s final out-of-pocket cost is $430 (Full price: $530- $100 Campership).
