World Jamboree 2019 Scholarship Deadline Fast Approaching

7/12/2018

Dear Green Mountain Council Scouts, Venturers and Families,

It is still not too late to sign up for World Jamboree 2019, truly the Scouting Experience of a Lifetime!  So true, since this will be the first World Scout Jamboree held in the U.S. since 1967, and likely the last held here in at least a generation to come.  Join us in the U.S. Contingent at WSJ 2019, which is co-sponsored with Scouts Canada and the Scouts Association of Mexico, and held at the Summit in W.Va.

But please note the following information about scholarships and DEADLINE:

  • The 24th World Scout Jamboree is set to be the most accessible World Scout Jamboree for US Scouts in history. Not only is it closer than past World Jamborees, the US Contingent is also making efforts to make it as affordable as possible for anyone.
  • Scholarships are available to cover up to 50% of the published Contingent Jamboree Fee.
  • Youth (ages 14-17), as well as Young Adult volunteers (18-26), are eligible to apply for scholarships.
  • Scholarship applications are due by 31 July 2018.
  • The Contingent Management Team hopes to announce scholarship recipients by 12 September 2018.
  • To access the scholarship application, see https://wsj2019.us, “Scholarship Information”, red tab at bottom of Contingent web page.
  • For info about Green Mountain Council WSJ plans and attendance, contact Walt Morris, at walter.m.morris@gmail.com.
