12/11/2017

SCULPTURE MERIT BADGE at the Vermont Granite Museum of Barre, January 13-14. Indoor camping facilities, all meals included. Surrounded by the works of generations of granite sculptors, Scouts will learn from professional sculptor Ryan Mays and VGM Director Scott McLaughlin. They will leave with their own projects in plaster, clay, and marble. Sculpture was one of the original 57 merit badges issued by the Boy Scouts of America in 1911. Be assured, this experience in this venue will be inspiring! Limited to 12 Scouts, so register early.

AMERICAN LABOR MERIT BADGE, March 10. This is a rescheduled event: slots are still open! Scouts will learn about the history and current status of working people in America and work-related concerns ranging from workplace safety to employee benefits. Scouts will do role playing as different types of workers and employers. Representatives from Vermont unions and employers will share their thoughts on the subject with Scouts. Limited to 20 Scouts.

Registration forms available here. Learn more about the Vermont Granite Museum at http://www.vtgranitemuseum.org/
