Shaw's Giving Tag Program

9/26/2019

To all staff and volunteer leaders and families:

We are excited to share that the Green Mountain Council, BSA is now participating in the Shaw's Giving Tag Program, which is designed to make it easy for customers of Shaw's stores to contribute to their local community while supporting the environment. As many of you are aware, Vermont has a very high interest in environmental awareness and will be plastic free by July of 2020.  So, let’s all do our part by purchasing a reusable shopping bag and supporting the great program of Scouting at the same time!

This ongoing opportunity can be taken advantage of at any Shaw's store. All you have to do is purchase a $2.50 reusable GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Bag, follow the instructions on the attached Giving Tag and we will receive a $1 donation!  In addition, our Council has been chosen by the Shaw’s store in Waterbury as the benefiting organization for the month of October!

This is a great way to support the environment and fundraise for our cause. If everyone on our email list purchased just ONE bag and directed the $1 donation to us, we would receive a donation of $2,000.  Let’s get started!

We can begin by sharing the news of this opportunity with our friends and family. Call, send emails and post on social media. The more people who learn about the program, purchase the GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Bag and use the attached Giving Tag to direct the donation to Green Mountain Council, BSA, the more money we will raise.  To learn more about this program, please visit shaws.bags4mycause.com.

Sincerely,

Edward R McCollin
Scout Executive
