Green Mountain Policy on Solo Scouts at Summer Camp and other Activities

4/1/2019

With the introduction of female Cub Scout Dens and Scouts BSA girl troops, there have been questions and inquiries to the camp and event leadership on participation by Solo Scouts.  After reviewing the Guide to Safe Scouting and Youth Protection Guidelines and in consultation and discussion with the Council’s camp leadership, the following guidelines have been established that are supported by the Council volunteer and professional leadership:

“Registered Solo Scouts of any gender who want to attend a Green Mountain Council summer camp must attend with a unit of the same gender”

In addition, all policies and guidelines of the Guide to Safe Scouting and Youth Protection will be in place and overseen by the camp and event leadership to be in compliance with the Rules and Regulations of the BSA and the By-Laws of the Green Mountain Council.

Any questions regarding this policy may be directed to Council Service Center by calling 802-244-5189 or email to info@scoutingvermont.org.

Are you having sleepover camp this years? If so, can you take a Solo female scout? Is so what week? A registered/trained/female adult can accompany if that helps.
