Green Mountain Council, BSA to honor Mike Dubie as its 2018 Distinguished Citizen

10/25/2018

The Green Mountain Council Executive Board has chosen Mike Dubie as the 2018 Distinguished Citizen Award recipient.  The award will be presented on Wednesday, November 14 at the Trader Duke’s Hotel, 1117 Williston Road, South Burlington.  Mike’s brother, Brian Dubie who ran for Governor in 2011, will serve as emcee.

Mike was selected for his long-standing service to the men and women of our military and for his full belief and support of the Scouting program and what it does to help prepare Vermont’s youth for life.  He has given considerable time to the service of his country and has provided inspired leadership, qualities that are the embodiment of all the values that the Boy Scouts of America instill in young people.

Among his many accomplishments, he served our country flying the F16 fighter jet, served in leadership roles within the National Guard, including the Commander of the Baghdad International Airport and then later as Adjutant General of the State of Vermont.  He finished his career as a US Air Force Lt. General serving as the Deputy Commander of Northern Command, which is charged with defense of North America.  Most importantly, along the way, he has supported the careers of many of our young people through his impassioned leadership, love of country, and compassion for those with whom he has served.    Many Eagle Scouts from Vermont and across the Country went on to distinguished careers in the military using their skills learned in Scouting to excel in their respective branches.  Mike currently serves as the President of Revision Military Technology headquartered in Essex Junction.

To register to attend this event, contact Ed McCollin at 802-244-5189 or via email at
