With the sudden and unexpected departure of the 2016 Camp Director, Bill McDonald who took a full time job in Hawaii, the search began for a replacement for the camp in 2017.
Scout Executive, Ed McCollin recently announced that Clint Buxton has accepted the position of Camp Director for Mt Norris Scout Reservation for the 2017 summer camping season. A native of Richmond, VT, Clint has been part of the Mt Norris camping program for many years, attending the camp as a youth with his father, serving on staff, and as Scoutmaster with Richmond Troop 23. Clint is currently serving as the Course Director for the 2017 Wood Badge Leadership Training Course, which will culminate this fall over two weekends at Camp Sunrise. He is also a member of the Council Executive Board.
Clint has already begun to work with Program Director Russ Baker as they work to put together a top-notch staff to serve the Scouts and leaders of the troops that are signed up to attend camp this summer. Combined with the physical improvements of the camp by the Mt Norris Alumni Association, the Ajapeu Lodge Order of the Arrow and the resources of many other volunteers, the Mt Norris team has now put into place the players who will provide an outstanding week of summer camp. If you wish to reach out to Clint, he can be reached via email at clint.buxton@gmail.com.
Welcome aboard Clint!!
