Several American Legions around Vermont donated a total of just over $3000 to help purchase new tents for Mt Norris Scout Reservation. Ron Larose, the State Commander of the American Legions in Vermont took on this fundraiser as his project as Commander. Recently Ron presented a check to the outgoing Scout Executive, Ed McCollin at a small ceremony held at the American Legion in Bristol, VT.
In addition to his time served as Commander, Ron is a very active Scouter having served as Scoutmaster of Troop 543, chartered to the Legion in Bristol, and currently serves as the Chartered Organization Representative.
This donation will provide between 7 and 8 new tents for a campsite at Mt Norris which will be up and on display in 2021!
The Green Mountain Council Executive Board, Mt Norris Scout Camp Leadership and it's Alumni Association extends their heartfelt thanks to Ron for his efforts and support, as well as to all of the Legions and their leadership for supporting Ron and the Scouting programs.
