Mt. Norris Scout Reservation Institute of Scouting

The Green Mountain Council Camping Committee has been hard at work planning and developing a very special week of camp for all Scouts and Venturers across the state.  Titled the Mt Norris Scout Reservation Institute of Scouting (MNSRIOS), the week will feature a variety of options for Scouts to choose:

TECH WEEK - back for its second year of operation, Scouts will be able to choose from two differnt paths:

1. Energy track which will focus on  Energy, Electricity and Nuclear Science OR
2. Transportation track focusing on Truck Transportation, Farm Mechanics and  Welding

Preparing to become an Eagle Scout - programs will focus on Eagle related merit badges as well as topics like;
  • How to use the Life to Eagle Work book
  • Ideas and discussion on what determines a good Eagle Scout Service Project
  • How to prepare for the Eagle Board of Review
  • Using your resources

3. Older Scout program - a series of one and/or two day trips in and out of Mt Norris.  Canoeing, hiking, wilderness camping and much more.

All three programs are provisional camping meaning the camp staff will be providing the leadership throughout the week.

Keep an eye out for a full informational brochure giving more details on the programs, fees and how to register.

I have been looking for this camp on line since November and you have it hidden in blog!!!!!! It should be on the Norris page like Frontier camp. What if scouts from other councils want to come! Any way my son loved this last year so much he said it was the one thing he had to do. Thankfully of the 6 weeks he has something scheduled this is not one because I would be in soooo much trouble!

I agree with both comments above, this info should not be buried (and details should at least be in the Leaders Guide) and when will these special weeks be offered - Tech Week and Eagle Week?

We have at least 2 Scouts who might be interested.

Thanks,

Stew

When is eagle week? Where do I go to get the registration form? How come it is so hard to get any info on this website? Everything is buried and hidden. Can't seem to find or get any or the right info. How are other councils suppose to find out what this council has to offer if the site is so difficult?
