This year, the Council Advancement and Activities Committees decided to try something different this year to encourage more attendance for this fun event. These changes were made primarily to help accommodate those persons who have significant travel time and/or work hours that prevent them from attending the event on a week night.
The Recognition Dinner has been moved to Sunday, June 11 at the Canadian Club, located at 414 E Montpelier Rd, Barre, VT 05641. The staff of the Club are excited and pleased the Boy Scouts have chosen the Club for its recognition dinner and are looking forward to providing a great meal at a very reasonable price.
Cost is $30 per person or $50 per couple which includes a three meat buffet with all of the extras so bring an appetite (must have a minimum of 80 persons). Registration begins at 1:00 PM with the meal at 2:00 PM followed by the awards and recognition ceremony.
The highlight of the event is the presentation of the Silver Beaver Award, the highest award that can be earned and presented by the local Council. Nominations are now open and being accepted through the Council Service Center. To nominate someone, click here to access the form.
In addition, recognition will be given top leaders of all units that earned Gold Star status for achieving the Family Friends of Scouting goal, top selling Scouts for the Trail’s End popcorn campaigns and units that achieved Gold on the JTE scorecard. Come celebrate with these winners and join in the fun and fellowship of this event.
It is a great time to reconnect with friends and to learn more about the Scouting program and the direction it is going in the coming years.
