Biking adventure: Leadership, John Chesarek
2 separate rides, a 10 miler and a 15 miler. One would be in AM the other in PM, Each ride would be preceded by a 30-45 minute review of bicycle maintenance, laws, etc. Boys could get signed off on the rides as well as flat tire repair for cycling MB. Also covered is the second class requirement for using a map and compass on a hike or ride. Two adults or older scouts with cycling experience to help are requested for each ride, or we will make it a troop adult support requirement for participation. If those bringing bikes and only doing one ride would make their bikes available to other scouts for the second ride we would greatly appreciate it.

Collect the first of the three “Three Rivers Discovery Patches”. As we discover the Three Rivers we will be issuing three different Three Rivers Discovery patches, each indicating features of the individual rivers and their natural features and points of interest. Combined with the individual Troop discovery activities described elsewhere, these three patches give you and your troop the opportunity to discover all three of the Three Rivers individually over the next two years. Collect all three and match them together for the “Three Rivers, Three Discoveries” momento.
Games & Physical Fitness.
In keeping with the Boy Scouts of America’s emphasis on ‘physical fitness’ there will also be at least a “3K Run” (dependent on interest level) and various physical activities/games to test your fitness.
