Thank you for Everything

Dear Scouts, Leaders and Families of the Green Mountain Council:

As many of you may know, I was invited to interview for Scout Executive position in the Twin Rivers Council, headquartered in Albany, New York.  It is with mixed feelings that I inform you that I have been offered and have accepted the opportunity to serve as their new Scout Executive.  The new position starts July 16th.

I can tell you that my time in the Green Mountain Council has been wonderful.  Tammy, Davis and I are very proud of the accomplishments we have been honored to help with.  The Green Mountain Council is one of the best Council's in the country.  I see nothing but greatness to come.  I have many friends and colleagues that I have learned so much from here in Vermont.  This new opportunity would not have been possible without the great support of the Board, Staff, Volunteer Leaders and Communities we serve.

Council President Dick Kruger has already been in contact with the Northeast Region and a national search has already been started to find the next Scout Executive of the Green Mountain Council.  I will continue to do all I can to make sure that the Council does not miss a beat in the transition.  The Council Staff is first rate and will make sure that all our Units have a great summer program and are ready for fall recruitment and popcorn.  Scouting is a movement and it will continue to move forward in Vermont.

Tammy, Davis and I want to thank each and every one of you for all the support we have received over the last years.  Scouting is a real community and I am very proud to have been able to spend time in the community of the Green Mountain Council.

Yours in Scouting,

Rich Stockton
