Silver Beaver Nominations Now Being Accepted
Since 1930 when it was first introduced by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Silver Beaver Award has been the highest award a Council can give to its Scouters. It is presented for outstanding service to youth within the Council or for outstanding longtime service to youth by a registered Scouter.
Volunteers of the Boy Scouts of America may receive this award upon concurrence of the Silver Beaver Selections Committee and the Director of Operations at the National office, BSA.
Candidates for this award must be nominated but self-nomination disqualifies the candidate.
If you know of a Scouter who is deserving of this prestigious recognition, please fill out a nomination form and submit it to the Green Mountain Council Advancement Committee. All nominations must be received in the Council Service Center before April 23, 2010. Selected recipients will be recognized at the 2010 Annual Council Dinner & Meeting on June 24 in Montpelier.
