New Waterfront Project at Mt Norris

Mt. Norris Scout Reservation holds a special place in the heart of everyone that has attended the camp over the years.  The Green Mountain Council has been working hard to upgrade the facilities at Camp.  2009 was a year of rebuilding and analyzing.  Now that Mt Norris has reopened and is preparing for another great summer of program, we are prepared to undertake a major upgrade in the facilities.  We are committed to making sure that Mt Norris is available to future generations of Boy Scouts featuring the best possible program facilities.

The first area that we are going to focus on will be the Waterfront.  Our plan includes:  totally replacing and extending the current dock system, adding a boat dock for the sailing program, updating the Boat House and cleaning the entire area.

This project is estimated to cost around $10,000.  Our hope is that Units, Organizations, Individuals and Foundations in the Council will be able to contribute to the Waterfront Fund.  A plaque will be hung on the Tower acknowledging the gifts that allowed this project to happen.  We are asking you to consider a gift to help us make the Waterfront project happen this spring, so that the Scouts will be able to enjoy it as part of Summer Camp 2010.
