Granite Gear Backpack - Essay Contest

Green Mountain Council is fortunate to have received 6 NEW Backpacks from Granite Gear.  These backpacks will be awarded to Scouts who are actively working on advancing to the rank of Eagle Scout or working on the Venturing Ranger Award and have a financial need.  These packs are valued at $300 each.   

An interested Scout/Venturer will need to submit a 300 word essay on "How they would use their New Granite Gear Backpack and where they would like to go hiking with their Scout Unit in Vermont".  You will also have to provide a letter from your Scout Leader indicating you are actively working towards advancement and that you have a financial need.

Please send your essay and Scout Leader Letter to the Green Mountain Council Service Center by Monday, June 28.  The Scouts / Ventures who's essays are selected (by the essay committee), will be presented their Granite Gear Backpack in July.

The Scout will be expected to send a thank you letter to Granite Gear for providing the backpack.
