GREEN MOUNTAIN COUNCIL TRAINING RECORDS TO BE UPDATED!

A plan is being launched to update the Green Mountain Council training status of all Scouters registered in the Council. Richard Stockton, Scout Executive, has given his approval for the following:

• Scouters will be put on the Honor System to record all their training from January 1, 2001 through January 1, 2008.
• Authorization of select individuals to be given computer access to record these trainings

The plan outline is as follows:

• Each Scouter will fill out the form to the best of their recollection with the training taken, date, and instructor/location
• Scouters acknowledge accuracy of record by signing form (required)
• The Unit Committee Chair will collect all the forms and co-sign (required)
• Unit forms are to be given to the District Training Chair/member to co-sign (required)
• Designated persons will input the information into the National record

Any training taken after January 1, 2008 needs either a copy of the course completion card or a training roster to verify training and be recorded.

BSA membership number must be on the completed form.  Each Scouter should have gotten their membership card with the charter. The membership number is listed on the card. Check with your CC if your cards were not handed out. If unable to find your membership number contact your District Training Chair or Council Service Center.

Units will have until October 31, 2009 to turn in the completed and signed training records. Posting of training records will begin in December.
