Our Camporee theme this year is:

Spring Break!

Join us at Mt. Norris Scout Reservation from May 2 to 4 and bring your wildest Hawaiian shirt! If you don't have a shirt then dig around in the local goodwill, thrift shop, second hand clothing places. Ask your family, your friends, people with poor taste in clothing!

Events planned for this year's start of warmer weather camping include the following:

  • Rifle Range
    Shooting events and competition
  • Tug-O-War
    Who has the most "pull"?
  • Volley Ball
Compete by Troop, Pack, or even Patrol
  • Bicycle Drag Races
Bikes will be provided but you must bring your own helmet. Helmets must not be damaged. There will be age group brackets for competition. This event will have a unique prize.
  • Obstacle Course
Test your endurance, dexterity and skills!
  • Melon Relay
Do you think that you have what it takes to win?
  • Dutch Oven Cooking Contest
Includes an appetizer, main dish, and dessert! All recipes will be based on a tropical or Hawaiian dish. Part of the competition includes presentation of the disk to the judges so bring plates, bowls, or whatever you need to do that!
  • Evening Camp Fire
We will be conducting a Webelos crossover ceremony at the campfire.
The Order of the Arrow will call out new youth.
We'll be doing a rustic instrument concert! Make some kind of instrument using whatever materials you have at hand and bring it to the concert! Please do not bring real instruments, this is all about making something unique!
Those Webelos that are interested in participating in the crossover ceremony need to contact Tim Collins so that he can plan accordingly. You can reach Tim by email at [Click for member's page] or by phone at 802-479-1224

Please register in advance. The registration form can be downloaded from here. Cub Scouts are welcome to participate in the camporee too! Webelos are welcome to camp with the troops and younger scouts can come for the day on Saturday. Download the Cub Scout agenda and registration form.

The activities chairs for this event are Ed Ledo at 802-684-3306, eledo@dps.state.vt.us or David Towle 802-684-3461, dtowle@rideRCT.org
