Long Trail District Round Table for May
We are holding our 2nd Annual Leader Outdoor Cook Off!!!
This is a great chance to show NEW Leaders some things they can do this summer with their Units.
Everyone is asked to come prepared to demonstrate a new or unique outdoor cooking method and or NEW recipe to share with the whole group. Please have copies of how and the recipe available to hand out to others who attend.
You may come as early as about 5:30 p.m. to start your cooking. Please remember to use "no trace methods" in your cooking. Use some way to contain your fires or a cook stove. Examples would be a cut off barrel set off the ground on a large hub caps or and old grill and grate to use your Dutch oven in etc.
It is permissable to cook a sample ahead of time and bring it warm ready to serve as you demo a smaller portion, in the interest of the time it takes or because you may not be able to arrive early enough to do the process so that everyone may sample it in a timely manner.
Cooking should be ready to serve at the 7 p.m. opening time of this Meeting. Bring your own eating utensils and plate, a lawn chair to sit in and relax outdoors as long as the weather etc permits. Or rain gear if needed.
(We are in the process of confirming a Guest for this event.)
"Many Indians make the work load lighter!" So please come early if you can to help set up and/or stay a few minutes later to help clean up.
Please Contact Bonita Wells by email shelope@yahoo.com or phone 525-4110 to let her know what you will be doing for this event. Perhaps we can come up with some kind of Golden Spoon Award for this.
