Premiering in September, Ken Burns' new film, "The Tenth Inning," brings his landmark 1994 PBS series "Baseball" up to date. Accompanying the film is a local community engagement campaign that brings Vermonters together to share their baseball stories, while reflecting on how "America's pastime" has connected people and communities through a shared passion and common experiences.
This month's episode of Public Square looks at the uncertain future of the Vermont Lake Monsters, the state's minor-league baseball team, and the economic and social impact of this and other baseball traditions like the Vermont Mountaineers and the Little League State Tournament.
