Powder Horn Training

Powder Horn is designed to expose Adult Leaders in Venturing and Boy Scouting to activities and resources necessary to operate a successful outdoor/high adventure program of a fun and challenging nature.  It also familiarizes participants with the Ranger Award program and provides guidelines to help Venturers achieve this award.

Participants’ Qualifications:

  • Must be a registered Leader in the Boy Scouts of America
  • Must have completed *New Leader Essentials * Basic Leader Training in Venturing or Boy Scout Leader or your position specific training prior to attending the Powder Horn Course
  • Have a current (within one year of the course date) BSA Class III Medical Form.
  • Must be ready to have fun and experience many different exciting outdoor activities.

If you have questons about becoming a participant in a Powder Horn Course, please contact Peter Loring at 802-652-4622, email Peter at powderhorn2@verizon.net or contact the Green Mountain Council Service Center. You will have a Great experience! The courses are limited to 48 participants.
