Adopt-A-Park in the Ethan Allen District
The Green Mountain Council and the Vermont State Parks have started a new program. Read more about it.
Parks Within The Ethan Allen District:
- Bomoseen State Park
- Branbury State Park
- DAR State Park
- Emerald Lake State Park
- Half Moon Pond State Park
- Lake Saint Catherine State Park
- Lake Shaftsbury State Park
- Woodford State Park
Possible Projects:
- Spring cleanup and readying the park for opening
- Painting
- Trail work
- Visitor programming
- Fall clean-up and park close down
- Roadside cleanup
- Eagle Scout projects
- Coordinated volunteer days with events such as Earth Day, National Trails Day, National Public Lands Day.
Service Recognition:
- Troops will receive fee waivers valid for camping or day-use at any VT State Park.
- Troops will receive certificates of appreciation.
- Accomplishments of Troops will be highlighted on the VT State Parks website.
Commitment:
We would wish for your troop to adopt a park and volunteer each year. We can arrange for you to volunteer as many days as you are able. You could assist weekly, monthly, or once per season. We are flexible and willing to make this program fit your Troop!
