Winter Treks 2008 at MNSR

These weekend activities have a program capacity of 90 participants, youth and adults, and a cabin sleeping capacity of 84 beds for youth and adults. Your troop must pre-register and pay all fees two (2) weeks in advance of your weekend of choice. Walk-ons will not be allowed to participate. The fee of $45 per person includes meals, lodging, program, a special Winter Trek patch and program equipment. Two-deep leadership is required. Please call the Council Service Center for available slots prior to sending in your check and reservation form. Cabin assignment will be made on the weekend at Camp.

January 11-13 and February 1-3
February 15-17, February 29-March 2, 2008

  • Climbing on the indoor climbing wall
  • Ice Fishing
  • Winter Skills Training

Patrols will be grouped and compete as follows:

  • Cross-country ski a timed route through the camp.
  • Shoot .22 rifle & archery.
  • Snowshoe a timed route through the camp.
  • Shoot .22 rifle & archery.
  • Patrols winter games and fun

All participants will receive a participation certificate. Meals include hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday and hot breakfast on Sunday.

  • Cracker-barrel at 9:00 pm on Friday and Saturday
  • Indoor campfire program immediately following dinner on Saturday
  • Group plaque signing commemorating the event during dinner Saturday evening

All of our Treks will include a full slate of events in addition to the “specialty” range event. Program equipment is provided, but you may bring your own skis or snowshoes. Do not bring archery equipment or rifles! These are great weekends to try your winter camping skills, and camp OUT.
