Camp Sunrise "Good Turn" Service Project Opportunities

Ideals:  The Scout Law asks us to be “Helpful” while the Scout Slogan reminds us to “Do a good turn daily”.  These Scouting ideals suggest that we are willing to offer assistance to those in need.  The Camp Sunrise Camping Committee needs your help now.  There are many projects at Camp Sunrise, both large and small, that represent an opportunity for your unit to become involved in the stewardship of our facility.  Camping is an important part of the Scouting program, one the boys especially enjoy.  What better way to reinforce the ideals of Scouting, than to have your unit participate in a service project at Camp Sunrise.

How to be “Helpful”:  Review the list below and click on a project you are interested in to get further details.  Along with project details, each project page provides an email link for you to notify us that you are interested, or would like more information.  Someone from the Camping Committee will then contact you regarding the project.

Recognition:  We realize that helping out at Camp Sunrise requires a commitment of time, energy and resources on the part of your unit.  To help show our appreciation and to encourage the boys to take pride in their efforts we will recognize each unit that completes a service project with the “Daniel Beard Award”.  The unit will receive a 24” award ribbon along with a listing on the permanent service award plaque in the Sunrise Dinning Hall and a brass tag on the project if appropriate.  We will also post a list of participating units on the Green Mountain Council website.  We want the boys to know that they really can make a difference.

Let’s work together to create a meaningful experience at Camp Sunrise
