On June 11-13, 2010 over 300 Arrowmen gathered at Camp Sequassen in New Hartford, CT for the 2010 Section NE-2A Conclave, “A Journey Through Time.”
Friday night kicked off with an opening show, the band "Forget Paris" and a welcome message from Section Chief Chris McCloskey. The Section was also proud to host National Chief Brad Lichota.
Saturday morning, Arrowmen attended a variety of training cells, and the afternoon brought an abbreviated slate of competitions, games, and activities due to heavy rain.
Saturday evening, the Conclave Arena Show was canceled due to rain and safety concerns. Everyone moved to the dining hall and an abbreviated version of the show was held, featuring a game of "Family Feud", OA Style. Right after was the annual patch auction which raised hundreds of dollars for the Section.
Sunday morning, the host lodge presented more of the arena show which featured actors portraying different highlights in Scouting's history.
Then came what would be the highlight of the Conclave for Ajapeu Lodge, the Section Business Meeting. We're proud to announce that for the first time ever, a member of our Lodge was elected as Section NE-2A Lodge Chief! Congratulations to Loren Murphy! Loren beat a strong lineup of 5 candidates, including the current Section Chief. A strong argument as to which candy bar represents his leadership style helped! Also elected were Peter Sauriol, Vice Chief, and David Cass, Secretary. We know Loren will make us proud.
