Notice of Vigil Honor Selection Committee Meeting and Call for Nominations:

    The Vigil Honor selection committee of Ajapeu Lodge will meet on Sunday April 11, 2010 at 2 pm at the Green Mountain Council Service Center for the purpose of reviewing letters of nomination and selecting the 2010 candidates for elevation to the Vigil Honor.

    In order for an Arrowman to be eligible for consideration as a potential Vigil Honor nominee, they must be a current dues paying member of the lodge for 2010, and must have been a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow for at least two years as of the date of the selection committee meeting. The following link provides good background information on the Vigil Honor, and can be useful in preparation of a letter of nomination for a candidate:

    If you know of a deserving Arrowman who has provided distinguished service above and beyond normal expectations of an OA member, either to their troop, their camp, to the lodge, or to Scouting in general as a youth, or to the lodge specifically as an adult, you are encouraged to submit a letter of nomination to the Vigil Honor selection committee. Nominations from the floor will be accepted on the day of the selection process. If you would like to verify a potential candidates membership status or tenure as a Brotherhood member, you can either contact the Green Mountain Council Service Center or Lodge Adviser Barry Simays by email at [Click for member's page] or (802) 363-3655.

Mailed or emailed letters of nomination are due no later than Friday April 9, 2010. Letters may also be hand-carried to the committee meeting on Sunday April 11, 2010.
